Mattan Hamou undergraduate student at the University of California, Davis. As an undeclared Life Science major at UC Davis, he is currently exploring all the opportunities available to me in the college of biological sciences, currently debating between cell biology and neurobiology, physiology and behavior. Through my Emergency Medical Technician training, I obtained a stronger sense of what life in the emergency medical world entails. After learning on a deeper level the value of genetic engineering this past year I wanted to shift to the laboratory spectrum of the medical field. My intention in joining iGEM was to research possible solutions to medical problems which would allow me to combine both of my aspirations of research in a practical medical field.

After joining the UC Davis International Genetically Engineered Machine competition, Mattan co-founded AmberCycle Industries. Mattan intends to continue his research in bioremediation as he pursues a medical degree.
Akshay Sethi: President and Chief Executive Officer
Akshay Sethi, currently pursuing a bachelor’s of science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UC Davis, co-founded AmberCycle Industries in August 2012, initially for the International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) entrepreneurship competition of 2012. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Akshay intends to pursue a MD degree, with aspirations to become a primary care provider in the future.

Nick Csicsery: Chief Operations Officer
Nick Csicsery is an undergraduate studying biological systems engineering at the University of California, Davis. He has been involved with developing the technology for AmberCycle Industries as part of the 2012 igem team at UC Davis. In the future, Nick intends to pursue a PhD in biological engineering.
Deborah Park: Chief Technology Officer
I'm a fourth year and I love brains! I love all things related to science, but neurobiology is something I would love to study more after graduation! I like to draw, play the violin, stargaze, and listen to some music! I love animals, so I like to help out at a ranch to take care of horses and dogs! I also like exclamation points!!!
Andrew Yao: Vice President, B.S. Biomedical Engineering
Andrew Yao is the Lab Manager of Facciotti Lab at UC Davis. He specializes in understanding how structures and dynamics of gene regulatory networks have evolved to regulate complex phenotypes. He also focuses primarily on microbial systems, which allow us to interrogate complex processes across a wide range of levels of cellular complexity (e.g. from single proteins to comprehensive systems-level analysis), and has become a crucial part to the development of AmberCycles technology.
